ADULT OUTPATIENT TREATMENT:
Our outpatient treatment programs provide services that include, but are not limited to, individual and group therapy, family counseling, psycho-educational and psychotherapy, and are defined services that may vary in level of intensity. Helping Hand’s adult outpatient programs utilize evidence-based approaches to achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients. Helping Hands utilizes a flexible approach with the expertise of our interdisciplinary team. As a treatment and rehabilitation provider, our patients have come to expect quality clinical services with a unique brand of patient centered care.
ADULT ALCOHOL & SUBSTANCE USE PROGRAMS:
Intensive Outpatient programs are structured individual, family, and group activities that are provided in an outpatient setting. This time-limited, multi-faceted service is designed to assist adults to begin recovery and learn skills for recovery maintenance and includes linkage to community resources and supports.
- The Intensive Outpatient program consists of a scheduled series of sessions appropriate to the individual plan of the patient.
- Sessions are typically 3 - 5 times per week for three to four hours per session.
- The program includes services provided during days and evenings.
- The program can function as a step-down program from crisis stabilization, detoxification, residential or inpatient treatment.
- Intensive Outpatient may also be used to prevent or minimize the need for a more intensive and restrictive level of treatment and is considered to be more intensive and integrated than traditional outpatient services.
PSYCHOSOCIAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM:
Helping Hand’s Psychosocial Rehabilitation is a comprehensive and dynamic program of support and opportunities for people with severe and persistent mental illnesses. In contrast to traditional day-treatment and other day programs, Helping Hands Clubhouse participants are called "members" (as opposed to "patients" or "clients") and restorative activities focus on their strengths and abilities, not their illness. The Clubhouse is unique in that it is not a clinical program, meaning there are no therapists or psychiatrist’s staff. All clinical aspects of the program have been removed so as to focus on the strengths of the individual, rather than their illness. Additionally, all participation in a clubhouse is strictly on a voluntary basis.
The clubhouse is divided into various work units designed to manage the everyday tasks associated with the operation of the clubhouse. Typical work units may include Clerical, Food Services, Snack Shack, Banking, Thrift Store, Educational/ Vocational, Social Recreation, Horticulture, and Janitorial etc. The work of each unit is further divided into specific, manageable tasks. When a member joins the clubhouse, he or she selects a "home unit", according to his or her interests and abilities. The member can then sign up to perform the unit tasks, giving him or her an opportunity to work side-by-side with the clubhouse staff in a unique partnership and to contribute in meaningful ways to the overall operation of the clubhouse.

CHILDREN SERVICES
Helping Hands LLC. strives to provide premiere prevention and treatment services for children and adolescents across Eastern North Carolina. Childhood and adolescence can be a challenging time, especially when there are problems with behavior, attention, mood, or when there are difficulties at home or at school. Experimentation with substances and drug/alcohol use by the youth or family member can further complicate a child's development. If problems go untreated, children/adolescents can develop low self-esteem, perform poorly at school, have troubling relationships with friends and family and not live up to their potential. We believe with quality therapeutic interventions, children/adolescents are able to develop the coping tools and life skills needed to acquire the highest level of functioning possible.
Our uniquely comprehensive approach to treatment begins with gathering information through the assessment process to custom-tailor treatment for our patients. We provide several types of therapy, such as:
- Family therapy
- Individual therapy
- Group therapy
In addition, our agency provides specialized adolescent services including:
- B3 Individual Respite Services (Allows quality time for the caregiver).
